VOLUNTEER POSITION DESCRIPTIONS

 
  • Track Official (FLAGGER - aka Corner Judge)  On the track during the practice and races monitoring for infractions and/or crashes. If a crash happens, they raise their flag to inform the gate operator to hold the gate, also warns any on coming racers to slow down and watch out.  Is eyes and ears on the track for inappropriate behaviour, informs commissar 

  • Finish Line Judge: stands at the finish line and marks down which bike numbers finish in which order.

  • Runner: Runs results from Finish Line judges to the moto shed during races.

  • Stager Organizes racers into their appropriate motos & lanes on time in the staging area, sends them up the start hill ramp in proper order. 

  • Upper Stager Helps organize racers into the gate at the top of the start hill. 

  • Head Scorer Compiles finish line judges observations

  • Gate Operator Runs and operates the gates during races/practices

  • Announcer Broadcasts the races, calls riders to staging, updates spectators.

  • Concession Opening shift - Opens the concession for the evening. Works the concession. Is under the direction/supervision of the Concession Coordinator 

  • Concession Closing shift  - Works the Concession. Closes the concession for the evening. Works under the direction/supervision of the Concession Coordinator 

  • First Aid First Aid personnel at the track in case of injuries. MUST have First Aid certificate. - show a copy to the moto shed.

  • Track Maintenance Keeps the track maintained during race/practice nights. Wets dust, rakes, fills divets, also ensures the track is left in a clean and tidy condition including emptying/collecting garbage and recyclables. Works under the supervision of the Track Maintenance Coordinator. 

  • Equipment Shed:  Signs in and out equipment from the shed. Writes down the nmes and bike numbers. Makes sure all gear etc is returned at the end of the evening 

  • Bike maintenance shed: Helps fix, maintain bikes that encounter problems during race night. Ensure ALL tools return to the tool shed by end of the night.

  • Work Bee 3 hrs: Usually a weekend to do work on the track. Manual labor. Works under the supervision of the Track Maintenance Coordinator
