Volunteer policy
Each family must complete 20 volunteer shifts for the season, plus 2 shifts at our Provincial July 26 & 27 2025, Plus 1 shift at our Casino (date TBD, likely end of summer)
A $400.00 deposit cheque will be required at the beginning of the season. If volunteer credits are not completed, the cheque will be cashed on SEPTEMBER 30, 2025
**NOTE: Volunteer policy is for each family, not each rider. Cheques should be dated for September 30, 2025.

Rider guardians must use ONE current EMAIL to sign up - *use the same email used to register on teamsnap*
All Shifts will be tracked via the email used. ALL members in the family MUST use ONE email to track volunteer shifts.
You may PRE-SIGN for all 20 shifts through out the season! Or you may signup day of onine until 4pm - Then you can sign up at the track if positions are still open.
No reminders emails will be sent.
If you are unable to fulfill a position signed up for, please remove yourself through the link.
PROVINCIALS -Each family must volunteer for 2 Provincial positions over the weekend or the week leading up to if your not available the weekend
A summary of your shifts can only be done by request to the volunteer coordinator.
Reimbursements for injuries or other possible exemptions such as a family transfer over the summer to a different area will be at the discretion of the board. There will be no reimbursements if a child simply decides they no longer like participating and will not be continuing. Trial license are available if a family wishes to try BMX before committing to the full season.
Independent riders over 16 years of age only need to complete half of the shifts, during the season.
*Independent Rider means any rider who independently gets themselves to the track, pays their own fees, races and does not in general have “family support”. They are adult racers who find it difficult to complete volunteer shifts during race nights because they themselves are racing.

Track Official (FLAGGER - aka Corner Judge) On the track during the practice and races monitoring for infractions and/or crashes. If a crash happens, they raise their flag to inform the gate operator to hold the gate, also warns any on coming racers to slow down and watch out. Is eyes and ears on the track for inappropriate behaviour, informs commissar
Finish Line Judge: stands at the finish line and marks down which bike numbers finish in which order.
Runner: Runs results from Finish Line judges to the moto shed during races.
Lower Stager Organizes racers into their appropriate motos & lanes on time in the staging area, sends them up the start hill ramp in proper order.
Upper Stager Helps organize racers into the gate at the top of the start hill.
Head Scorer Compiles finish line judges observations
Gate Operator Runs and operates the gates during races/practices
Announcer Broadcasts the races, calls riders to staging, updates spectators.
Concession: Looking to help in the concession - reach out and you can help on the concession team.
Opening shift - Opens the concession for the evening. Works the concession. Is under the direction/supervision of the Concession Coordinator
Concession Closing shift - Works the Concession. Closes the concession for the evening. Works under the direction/supervision of the Concession Coordinator
First Aid First Aid personnel at the track in case of injuries. MUST have First Aid certificate. - show a copy to the moto shed.
Track Maintenance Keeps the track maintained during race/practice nights. Wets dust, rakes, fills divets, also ensures the track is left in a clean and tidy condition including emptying/collecting garbage and recyclables. Works under the supervision of the Track Maintenance Coordinator.
Equipment Shed: Signs in and out equipment from the shed. Writes down the nmes and bike numbers. Makes sure all gear etc is returned at the end of the evening - must be there at opening
Bike maintenance shed: Helps fix, maintain bikes that encounter problems during race night. Ensure ALL tools return to the tool shed by end of the night.
Work Bee 3 hrs: Usually a weekend to do work on the track. Manual labor. Works under the supervision of the Track Maintenance Coordinator
