FISE WORLD EDMONTON PARTNERS WITH LOCAL SKILLS COMPETITION

August 27, 2016 (Edmonton) – Local skateboard and BMX enthusiasts participated in an all-ages skills competition today, hosted by Ride n’Play Indoor Entertainment Park and FISE World Edmonton.

The family-friendly event was held to highlight the accessibility and spirit of FISE World Edmonton, which takes over Hawrelak Park September 16 - 18.

“FISE has committed to three years in Edmonton and being part of the community is important to the organization and the athletes,” says Alexandra Dardevet from FISE World Series. “We love seeing the next generation of pros grind out their own style, so partnering with a skills competition was a natural fit. We can’t wait to see Edmonton show up in September.”

FISE World Edmonton is free to attend and boasts activities for all ages. Hawrelak Park will be transformed, so spectators can expect to see some of the world’s best action sport athletes, participate in games and inflatable obstacles, and enjoy food trucks and vendors.

“FISE’s spirit really echoes what we are all about in Edmonton,” says Edmonton City Councillor Andrew Knack. “By removing barriers like cost and providing entertainment and activities for all ages, FISE has embraced the inclusivity of our city. This is Canada’s biggest action sport festival and we are thrilled to host them for the next three years.”

Families are encouraged to attend the festival together, taking advantage of transit services or on site bike racks.

The event also allows local riders of all ages to compete in an amateur division. To register in the amateur competition, riders can visit www.fiseworldedmonton.com or sign up onsite, starting Friday, September 16th.
